Cubs Evacuate to Ramsgate
5th April 2024
As part of the WW2-themed Spring Pack Holiday, the Cubs and Scouts were "evacuated" to Ramsgate by train. They took a guided tour about the Ramsgate tunnels, previously shelter to the city during the Blitz, and then spent the night in the same tunnel. They then hiked to 1st St Lawrence Scout Hut where they played hopscotch, french-skipping, benchball and made beetroot cake inspired by the rationing measures of the war. We hope all members enjoyed a slightly different style of camping and that they learned something interesting along the way.
