Cubs : Sixers and Seconders Sleepover
As part of their duties the Sixers and Seconders (and potential recruits!) get a sleepover training night, this allows them to bond as a team and learn skills that are hard to teach when the rest of the pack are there!
This year they were treated to Archery lessons... it was like watching Robin Hood in action! :-)
We then headed back to the hut, where we prepared dinner in the form of parcels of meat and veg that would normally be cooked on a fire, but we did them in the oven. After dinner it was off for a walk around the village on a quiz, learning their local area, ending at the the Secret Wateringbury Cubs HQ - We can't tell you where it is... it falls under the Official Cub Scouts Secrets Act :-)
After a cosy campfire and hot chocolate it was back to the Hut for snacks and a film on the big screen! ... and then eventually bed!
Even with the extra hour in bed the Cubs were determined to get up at the crack of dawn! After breakfast we made pompoms and pompom launchers!
An amazing time had by all and it's wonderful to see our young Sixers and Seconders really bond as a team to look after their fellow cubs.
